Meet Recap

The lady Raiders traveled to Columbus for the Pickerington North Invitational this past weekend, facing a slew of new faces, including teams from West Virginia and Kentucky. But the new competition and the absence of some notable faces in the lineup did nothing to deter their resolve, and the girls won their fourth invitational of the season, finishing first in the field of 18. Alexa Jankowsky led the way, followed by Avery Blaszak, Andrea Harrison, Oriana Anderson, Charlotte Lo, Hailey Stupay and Mikaela Lancy. Runners of the Meet were Maggie Spielman, Sophie Miller, Sophia Martin and Emma Ponitz. With two regular season meets left, the lady harriers are gearing up for the toughest district in Ohio in three weeks!

Meet Recap

On a hot day for running, the Shaker boys traveled to Cloverleaf High School for the Todd Clark Invitational this weekend. By the end of the day, the Raiders had proved tougher than most, finishing 6th in the field of 18 and defeating perennial stalwarts Mayfield, Stow and North Royalton. The pack continued to impress, led by Matt Burnard and his 22nd place finish. Finishing closely behind were Jake Lehner, Fenner Dreyfuss-Wells and Vivek Divakarla, followed by Zak Reape. The open race was won in impressive fashion by freshman Deandre Hall, who was participating in only the third cross country race of his life. Runners of the Meet were Garrett Child, Lehner, and freshman Dave Carpenter, who continued his impressive performance this season in the varsity lineup. The boys will be back in action next week at Pickerington North.

Meet Recap

Boardman was the place to be for top cross country teams in Ohio this past weekend as 6 of the top 16 teams in the state helped fill out the 44 team field. The Shaker boys finished 19th in the steamy conditions, closing the gap significantly on district foes Copley and Medina Highland. As usual, the pack attack worked wonders. While the lead runners for Shaker struggled to fight to the front of the 377 runner field, the team’s number five runner proved faster than all but 9 others. Runners of the meet were Sam Rostetter, DeAndre Hall and Gabe Dacanay. The team will be back in action next Saturday at Cloverleaf High School for the Todd Clark Colt Pack Invitational.

Meet Recap

The Lady Raiders Cross Country team went up against 39 schools from Northeastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania Saturday, and secured a hard fought third place finish. The unranked Raiders continued their habit of beating top 20 teams in the state, as they spent their fourth consecutive week defeating top ranked opponents. Falling to the Raiders this week were Twinsburg and the Medina Highland team that had won Tiffin the week before. The performance was a team effort, as the entire squad battled through heat and soreness from a rough week of practice. Runners of the Meet were Hailey Stupay, Andrea Harrison, and Mikaela Lancy. Done with mega-meets, the harriers will focus on their push for the post-season next week at the Todd Clark Invitational at Cloverleaf!
