Junior Jaivon Jones didn’t get off to the start he would’ve liked at the 2018 OHSAA State Wrestling Championships but he definitely finished strong as he fought his way back through the consolation brackets to place 5th at 126 lbs. in Division I.
After losing his opening match to Jimmy Carmany (Brecksville), Jones won three straight matches to get to the Consolation Semifinals before dropping a match and then winning the 5th place match by default over Gio DiSabato (Hilliard Davidson).
Senior Sam Meinhard also represented very well as he upset #1 seed Derrick Bowman in his opening match before dropping his next two at 220 lbs.
Great seasons Jaivon and Sam!!
