The Shaker Girls Soccer team traveled to Lakewood High School Thursday night to take on the Lady Rangers in an OHSAA Sectional Championship contest.
The game remained scoreless until the Lady Rangers scored with just under 10 minutes remaining in regulation time. The Lady Raiders showed their resiliency and grit by scoring to tie the game with only :44 seconds remaining. With the season on the line for both teams, they headed to a sudden-death overtime where the Lady Raiders came up on the short end of a 2-1 overtime loss.
According to Head Coach April Hurle, “The girls played their hearts out and represented the school very well. I’m so proud of them!”
The team finished the season with an overall record of 6 wins, 8 losses and 3 ties.
