Meet Recap

The Lady Raiders harriers took third place at the competitive Tiffin Carnival this past weekend. Sophie Carrier was the talk of the day, breaking her own school record and becoming the first Shaker girl to every break 18 minutes! Sophie won the race, clocking 17:58 for the 5K course, Her nearest competitor was 29 seconds back. Also having breakthroughs were freshmen Avery Blaszak and Andrea Harrison and rookie junior Hailey Stupay. Blaszak smashed her old p.r. along with the 20 minute barrier, running a blistering 19:52. Senior Alexa Jankowsky fought through illness to finish 6th place overall in 19:06. It was a great day all around for the girls, as the B team took 5th place of 26 teams and the girls in the open race finished second out of 28. Runners of the meet were Carrier, Hannah Braun, Natalie Jaeb, and Esti Goldstein.
