The Shaker Raiders took the hard road in Saturday’s Baron Cup I semifinal vs. Hudson by falling behind 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 to the Explorers.  Each time the Raiders answered with game-tying goals from Daniel Ritts (unassisted), Patrick Richards (Ryan Wheeler & Ritts) and Geoff Grossman-McKee (Asher Pollack & Wheeler) to send the game into overtime tied 3-3.

After a scoreless 1st 8 minute overtime, both teams began the 2nd OT skating 4 on 4.  The Raiders had numerous scoring chances in the 2nd OT but couldn’t convert and Liam Siwik came up big to thwart a couple of Hudson chances to send the game to a 3rd OT.

The Raiders continued to keep the pressure on and it ultimately paid off with Ben Greenberg’s game-winner:

The victory propelled the Raiders into the Baron Cup I Championship game on Sunday vs. North Olmsted at Brooklyn Ice Arena at 5:30pm.  The Raiders will be looking to win their 12th Baron Cup title, already tops of all area schools, and their 2nd in a row.

Good luck Raiders!
