The Shaker Heights hockey team opened their season in the Walsh Jesuit Thanksgiving Tournament last weekend at Kent State University and came away winners in 2 of their 3 games.

The Raiders got the season off to a roaring start with an impressive 3-1 victory in their opening contest vs.rival University School. Liam Siwik provided standout play in goal for the Raiders as Daniel Ritts, Ben Schneiberg and Geoff Grossman-McKee all found the back of the net for Shaker.

The Raiders followed up with a solid 5-1 victory the next morning vs. Holy Name.  Scoring for the Raiders were Grossman-McKee (2), Ritts, Schneiberg and Chris Strnisha.

The Raders took on the host Warriors in the tournament finale and came up on the short end of the contest, losing 2-1 with Stephen Straffon scring the lone Raider goal.

The Raiders will travel to the Mentor Civic Ice Arena Wednesday night to take on the Lake Catholic Cougars at 7pm.
