SHHS Crew Competes at the Head of the Cuyahoga (HOTC) Regatta – The Only ‘Home’ Competition of the Season!

SHHS Crew Men’s and Women’s Teams are competing at the 2016 Head of the Cuyahoga (HOTC) Regatta on Saturday, September 17 – the only ‘HOME’ competition of the season.

Everyone’s invited to cheer Shaker on and celebrate the Greater Cleveland ‘home teams’ at the Cleveland Rowing Foundation (CRF) Boathouse in the Flats Rivergate Park and along the Cuyahoga River.
CRF hosts the HOTC regatta mid-September every year – open to high school, collegiate and adult competitors from around the country. The 2015 HOTC had over 440+ entries of rowing clubs/programs from across the US, and it grows every year.
The Cuyahoga River provides a unique opportunity for rowers to navigate the 4800-meter course on the challenging turns of Cleveland’s crooked river. This racing distance, called a “head race,” is the standard race format for fall season regattas.

Hope to see you at this great free, fun event. Come and cheer on the Shaker Crew Raiders!
