While the Shaker Girls Cross Country team will attempt to make history Saturday at  the OHSAA State Cross Country Meet at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, senior Justyn Moore will be running to make some history of his own as an individual state qualifier for the Shaker Raiders.

Justyn finished 12th in a strong field last week at the OHSAA Regional Meet in Boardman which earned him a spot in Saturday’s state meet, the first state qualifier for a Shaker boys’ runner in almost 10 years.  In addition to last week’s 12th place finish, Justyn finished 2nd at the Avon Lake Early Bird Invitational, 3rd at the OHSAA District meet, finished 4th in three other meets (GCC, Panther Invitational, George Clements Invitational) and 1st at the Todd Clark Invitational.  That 1st place finish led to Justyn being nominated for the JJHuddle/Bucknuts Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

The Boys Division I race with Justyn competing will start at 3:00pm.

Good luck Justyn!
